Catnip contains the feline attractant nepetalactone which is known for its behavioural effects on the cat family. With domestic cats, catnip is used as a cat ‘enjoyment'. Common behaviours cats display when they sense catnip is rubbing on the toys, rolling on the ground, pawing at it, licking it, and chewing it. Catnip is an extremely safe herb for cats and humans.
